Greenhill Residents Against
Continuous Expansion

Working together as neighbours to build a better future for our part of Evesham
Welcome to our website, which is run by a team of volunteers who live in the streets surrounding Prince Henry's High School, Evesham.
Please have a look through the whole site - there is lots of information on here to help you join the campaign to improve our neighbourhood, ease the traffic congestion on our residential roads and stop the expansion of the Henrician Theatre.
Other campaigns will develop as they are identified by the residents of this area of our town.
If you are just finding out about the proposals being planned by the Headteacher and the Governors of the school, read about why the residents of this little corner of Evesham are overwhelmingly objecting here.
Please contact us with anything you'd like us to add, news about any issues you think other residents should know about or see the bottom of this page for ways you can get involved!
The proposed expansion of the Henrician Theatre
From 312 seater theatre to 1000 seater conference centre!
Greenhill residents say NO!
Plans have recently leaked out about Prince Henry's High School Headmaster's plans to expand the existing theatre to create a 1,000 seater capacity auditorium.
This will compound the already problematic traffic situation.
This has been happening without any consultation or involvement of local residents and greater Evesham.
A petition organised by residents has had almost 300 signatures and plans are being made to roll it out across the whole town.
The residents concerns were aired in a front page story in the Evesham Observer on 7th March. Read it here
Residents' Meeting
The meeting held on 12th March was attended by over 80 residents and lots of thoughts and ideas were shared, questions were asked and answered and next steps were agreed.
It was wonderful to have Councillors Mary Tasker and Michele Hulme there, who were able to give us more up to date information about planning and traffic management.
Cllr Hulme told residents that Worcester County Councillor Satinder Bell (Harvington) has agreed to a trial one way system on an evening when a large scale event is on at the school - on our behalf, with no consultation at all.
This was met with alarm, and residents of Windsor Road, Cambria Road and Victoria Avenue in particular are going to email her to complain about the lack of consultation and their concerns.
A letter which residents can use is on the template letters page here.

1. Yes - to a cultural centre for the town. Yes - to one which would benefit the whole town economy. No - to a destination venue with no benefit to the local economy and situated in an area made up of residential, narrow Victorian streets.
2. We will mobilise and do everything in our power to object to these plans - from email campaigning directed at Wychavon DC planning, to working with other Evesham communities (EODS etc) to strengthen the campaign, to media coverage, to attending council meetings, to getting the support of the police and other emergency services, to putting banners and posters up, to getting support from town centre businesses etc etc etc.
We will show that the whole town objects to the plan.
3. The School's expansion proposal has brought us together as a community and we are stronger together. This is not a ‘done deal’.
